You Wanted Perfection

You wanted perfection

You wanted perfection

But I only had charm

And you couldn’t look past

How I looked on your arm

So you polished my edges

Until I was bleeding

Fed me the lines

You determined I needed

But my varnish still cracked

Into chips on your floor

I was sweeping them up

As you ushered me out the back door
