Starry Nights

T. Daniels is a writer and poet currently creating her next collection from interior Alaska.

starry nights

dark blue skies

ice cold brews

heavy metal pallet

supports the weight between us

comfort is the silence beneath the buzzing

as an enveloping warmth lingers past its bedtime its hot breath restrains my chests movement commanding a dewy armor to careen my face temporary distractions from my minds gaze

you see

they’re all present and accounted for

shining their respective light

accompanying the prize of my eye

the one we see both day and night

but oh tonight

how glorious she is

i’ve never seen her quite this big

or quite this close

or quite this bright

and doubtless i know

there’s no where i’d rather be

it’s just me, you

and her and all her might
